ABOUT AUTHOR

Joseph H. Hansen

Born on the cusp of 1960 in Minneapolis, Joseph H. Hansen embodies the adventurous spirit of his era. Graduating from South West Secondary School in 1979 marked the beginning of a journey marked by diverse experiences and relentless pursuit of passion.

During his formative years, Joseph juggled the rigors of technical education at MTI (distinguishing it from MIT) with nocturnal cab driving to fuel his architectural aspirations. The relentless pursuit of knowledge came at the cost of sleep, but Joseph emerged with a degree and a newfound aversion to the confines of indoor spaces.

Turning away from conventional career paths, Joseph found solace amidst nature as a groundskeeper at a private school, while moonlighting in the bustling world of restaurants. For two decades, he oscillated between the culinary arts and the construction site, honing his skills and gathering experiences.

The turning point came in his forties when Joseph obtained a contractor's license, breathing life into his architectural visions by designing and erecting several homes in his locale. Eager for new challenges, he ventured into the world of sawmilling, transforming raw timber into works of art. Though financially modest, this endeavor was a testament to Joseph's craftsmanship and dedication.

A shift towards the open road beckoned in his sixties, as Joseph embraced a twelve-year stint as a trucker, shedding both miles and pounds while traversing the country's highways. Now settled as a labor estimator in Starbuck, MN, Joseph eagerly anticipates the next chapter of his journey, where retirement will lead him to the sun-kissed shores of Florida.

Joseph H. Hansen, a testament to resilience and adaptability, continues to inspire with his unwavering pursuit of passion and zest for life's adventures.

Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.

  • Quote 2

Life doesn't just happen to us. There is one spectacular moment when it happens for us. It happens to change us somehow—to pick us up just when we're heading in the wrong direction.

Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.
